We are all sinners. Romans 3:23 says, "For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God."
The penalty for sin is death. Romans 6:23 says, "For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord."
God loves us and wants to have a relationship with us. John 3:16 says, "For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life."
Jesus died on the cross to pay the penalty for our sins. 1 Corinthians 15:3-4 says, "For what I received I passed on to you as of first importance: that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures, that he was buried, that he was raised on the third day according to the Scriptures."
Jesus rose from the dead to give us new life. 1 Corinthians 15:20 says, "But in fact Christ has been raised from the dead, the firstfruits of those who have fallen asleep."
When we put our faith in Jesus Christ, we are forgiven of our sins and we receive eternal life. John 3:18 says, "Whoever believes in him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe stands condemned already because they have not believed in the name of the one and only Son of God."
If you would like to receive the gift of salvation, simply pray this prayer:
"Dear God, I know that I am a sinner and that I deserve to be punished. But I believe that Jesus Christ died on the cross to pay the penalty for my sins and rose from the dead to give me new life. I now turn to You and ask for forgiveness. I put my faith in Jesus Christ as my Lord and Savior. Thank You for the gift of salvation. In Jesus' Name, Amen."
If you prayed this prayer, congratulations! You are now a Christian. Welcome to God's family!
